Build Your Own Multiview on a Mac: 6 Layouts for NFL Sundays, NBA Nights, College Football, Hockey and the Worlds Final

YouTube TV, ESPN and DirecTV let you build your own multiview on TVs. On a Mac, build it yourself: six layouts for NFL, NBA, college football and more.

A Mac window in Hero layout with one large game tile glowing to show the sound, and four smaller tiles labeled Game 2, Game 3, Game 4 and Co-stream.

YouTube TV, the ESPN app on Apple TV, Prime Video's NBA coverage, NFL Game Pass on DAZN outside the US and, since October 13, DirecTV all let you build your own multiview. Most are built for TVs and phones, and each one mixes games only from its own service. On a Mac you build your own across services, with six layouts for NFL Sundays, NBA nights, college football, hockey and the Worlds final.

Build your own multiview: who offers it, and what a Mac can do

On October 13, 2026, DirecTV launched Build Your Own Multiview. You pick up to four eligible channels and arrange them in a 2-, 3- or 4-view layout. It is live sports only, for Signature and Genre Pack customers. Eligible networks include ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FS1, NFL Network, NBA TV, MLB Network, NHL Network, CBS Sports Network, Golf, Tennis, ACC, Big Ten and SEC Network.

It launched on DirecTV streaming on Gemini and Roku, with Android TV, Fire TV, Vizio, LG, Apple TV and Tizen "to follow." The announcement doesn't mention computers or browsers. DirecTV isn't alone, and the phrase now turns up next to YouTube TV, the ESPN app, Sunday Ticket, DAZN and Roku. The table below sorts out who offers what.

Who lets you build your own multiview, and where

Each of these mixes games from its own service only. Putting a Peacock game next to an ESPN game and a YouTube co-stream takes your own layout, which is what the rest of this post builds. Our service-by-service matrix answers a different question: that table asks whether a service's multiview loads in a Mac browser, and this one asks who lets you build your own.

Three decisions behind every layout

Every recipe below is the same three choices made differently.

  • Tile count. Free Plush gives you up to 3 tiles. Plush Pro, a one-time $2.99 in-app purchase with no subscription, raises that to 8.
  • Layout. Grid splits the window evenly and is free. Split, also free from Plush 1.6, puts one big tile on the left and the rest in a grid beside it, a good fit for an ultrawide monitor. Hero (Plush Pro) gives the selected tile 65 percent by default, adjustable from 30 to 85. Drag any seam to resize, with a 120-point minimum, and double-click a seam to reset it.
  • Sound. Focus, the free default, follows your pointer, and a double-click locks audio to a tile with an accent glow. Adaptive (Plush Pro) plays the focused tile at full volume and the rest at an ambient level, 15 percent by default, 0 to 50. Chaos (Plush Pro) plays every tile at full volume. For the longer argument about hearing one game at a time, see our one-audio guide.

Press ⌘\ for the sidebar, where layout and sound live, and ⌘T to add a tile. If you've never used it, this is a multi-screen video player for Mac that plays content from the web, local files, and Apple Music.

Layout 1. NFL Sunday: Hero 1+3

The one trickAt the 4:25 p.m. ET window, swap the tiles and keep the session
Hero layout with a large green tile labeled Your team, sound on, and three smaller game tiles stacked on the right.
Hero 1+3: your team takes 65 percent, the other three stay in view.

The trick matters because the late window changes your lineup mid-afternoon. Don't rebuild. Replace the finished games' addresses in the same tiles, and the layout, sound mode and ambient level stay put. Which service carries which game is your provider's business; the matrix post covers that. The Thanksgiving tripleheader works the same way, and our Thanksgiving plan has the day laid out.

Layout 2. NBA night: three-game grid

Three tiles, one voice. The glow shows which game you hear.

Per the NBA's 2026-27 viewing guide, national games generally run Monday on Peacock, Tuesday on NBC and Peacock, Wednesday on ESPN, and Thursday and Friday on Prime Video, with ESPN adding Friday games midseason. Blackouts still apply to everything.

If every game you want is on League Pass, NBA.com's own multiview, up to 4 games, may be all you need, and its purchase page lists it in both League Pass tiers. Prime Video has a "fully customizable" multiview that mixes NBA on Prime and League Pass games for people who subscribe to both, on "a majority of devices, including smartphones and smart TVs." Browsers aren't stated there. Plush is for the nights that mix services: a Peacock game next to an ESPN game next to a League Pass game.

A caveat. nba.com and Prime Video aren't on Plush's built-in site list. You add them with the custom site option, and we haven't confirmed that playback works in a tile, so test one night before you rely on it. NBA.com has current League Pass pricing.

Layout 3. College football Saturday: 2×2 grid

The one trickLock the sound to the game you're in, and let the corner tiles tell you when to move it
A two by two grid of four equal game tiles, the top left tile glowing to show it has the sound.
2×2: four games, equal size, sound locked to one.

The December twist is the playoff. According to the Sports Illustrated schedule, the first round is scheduled for Friday, December 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, then Saturday, December 19 at noon (ABC and ESPN), 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (TNT and truTV, streaming on HBO Max). Selection Day is December 6, when the campus sites are set.

Those Saturday games run one after another, so you don't need four tiles. Use a two-tile overlap view for the minutes when one game's fourth quarter runs into the next kickoff, and close the finished tile afterward. That version is free. Treat all of these times as scheduled, not final.

Layout 4. Hockey and basketball: two-sport split

Recipe cardHockey and basketball
Best forNights when the NHL and NBA share the schedule

LayoutGrid, side by side with a draggable divider

Free or Plush ProFree
What goes in each tileOne hockey game, one basketball game
The one trickDrag the divider toward whichever game is in the final five minutes
Two large tiles side by side separated by a draggable divider handle, the left tile glowing to show the sound.
Two tiles and a divider you move as the game tightens.

The NHL's national partners are ESPN and ABC, and TNT (streaming on HBO Max), with some streaming-only games on ESPN+ and Hulu, plus ABC's Hockey Saturday. Wednesday is ESPN's NBA night, so it is the likeliest overlap. Which games are on, and where, changes night to night, so check the night's listings. Two tiles is also the easiest layout to run on a small MacBook screen.

Layout 5. Worlds 2026 final: broadcast plus two co-streams

The broadcast and two co-streams, with the sound on the one you follow.

This is League of Legends esports. The final is Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, a best-of-five scheduled around 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT). The official English broadcast is on LoL Esports, Twitch and YouTube. YouTube and Twitch both play in Plush tiles without the caveats that paid services have, and our Twitch multi-stream guide covers the setup.

Co-streams usually run behind the official feed. If you leave sound on a co-stream while watching the broadcast, you'll hear a play before you see it. Pick one tile for your eyes and ears. Don't count on lining the streams up.

Layout 6. Watch party: up to 8 tiles on the TV

The one trickPress M for master mute during commercials
A four by two wall of eight game tiles with the top left tile glowing to mark the game the room hears.
Eight tiles, one audible. Everyone can glance up and see a score.

Send the Mac's display to a TV over HDMI, or AirPlay it, and make the Plush window full screen. You don't need Pin on Top here, because nothing else shares the screen. If a web page has focus, ⌥⌘M does the master mute instead. Eight streams is a lot for one account and one network connection, so see the limits below before game day.

Before kickoff: a five-point checklist

  • Count your streams. Four tiles on one service count as four streams on your account. Check the limit before you build.
  • Sign in once. Tiles share one cookie store, so a login carries across tiles on the same site. Stay Signed In is on by default.
  • Use Video Mode. The button in a tile's toolbar fills the tile with the page's largest video and hides the page around it.
  • Save the session (Plush Pro). It stores tile count, layout, sound mode, ambient level, each tile's address and volume, and split positions. It doesn't store playback position or Pin on Top.
  • Pin the window if you need to. ⇧⌘P floats Plush above other apps. It's free, and resets when you quit.

Honest limits

A paid service decides what plays. A Plush tile loads a site the way Safari does. Plush has no DRM code of its own and uses WebKit, so a service that relies on Widevine alone can't play in any WebKit view, Safari included. If one won't play in a tile, keep that single game in its own Safari window beside Plush and use the rest as tiles.

Plush doesn't unlock blackouts, and it doesn't add streams to your account. If your plan allows three streams, a fourth may be refused by the service. Playback of nba.com and Prime Video in a custom tile is unconfirmed, and every schedule here comes from the sources linked above, so recheck it near the day.

Frequently asked questions

Can you build your own multiview on YouTube TV?

Yes, up to four, on smart TVs, streaming devices, iPhone and iPad. Google says it doesn't work in a web browser or via AirPlay. On a Mac, build the layout yourself with one game per Plush tile, within your account's stream limits.

Can you build your own multiview on the ESPN app?

Multicast works on Apple TV (3rd generation and later), and curated multiview runs on the listed TV devices, such as Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung and LG. Web and computers aren't listed. On a Mac, ESPN is on Plush's built-in site list, so you can open it in a tile next to other services. As with any paid service, ESPN decides what plays.

Can I use DirecTV Build Your Own Multiview on a Mac?

DirecTV's announcement doesn't mention computers or browsers. It launched on DirecTV streaming on Gemini and Roku, with other TV platforms to follow. To get a similar result on a Mac today, open each game in its own Plush tile, within your account's stream limits.

Is there a way to watch multiple NBA games at once?

Yes. League Pass has multiview on NBA.com for up to 4 games, and Prime Video's multiview mixes Prime and League Pass games for people who subscribe to both. To mix services, such as a Peacock game next to an ESPN game, use Plush tiles, free for up to three. nba.com and Prime Video are custom sites, so test first.

How do you watch multiple college football games at once?

On a TV, the ESPN app's curated multiview or YouTube TV's multiview. On a Mac, a 2×2 grid in Plush (Plush Pro) or three tiles free. For the playoff on December 18 and 19, a two-tile overlap view covers the minutes when one game runs into the next kickoff.

How many games can I watch at once for free?

Three. Free Plush allows up to 3 tiles in the Grid layout with Focus sound. Plush Pro, a one-time $2.99 purchase, raises it to 8 tiles and adds Hero layout, Adaptive and Chaos sound, and named saved sessions.

Can I watch the NHL and NBA at the same time?

Yes. A two-tile split with Focus sound is free. The NHL's national games are on ESPN, ABC, TNT and HBO Max, with some on ESPN+ and Hulu, so check the night's listings for both sports.

Does the Worlds final work in Plush?

The official English broadcast is on LoL Esports, Twitch and YouTube, and Twitch and YouTube play in Plush tiles. The final is scheduled around 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 14. LoL Esports posted its official co-streamer lineup on October 17. Co-streams run behind the broadcast, so keep the sound on the tile you're watching.

Plush Media Player is free on the Mac App Store, and Plush Pro is a one-time $2.99 with no subscription and no account. Build the layout you need this week and save it.
